Masonville Celebrates 200th Anniversary

The Masonville Bicentennial Celebration is being held Saturday July 16th. Celebrating your 200th birthday is a big deal and the town will kick it off with a parade at 11am, followed by an old-fashioned community picnic at 1pm complete with live music. The parade will start at the town hall on Route 206 and continue on to the Masonville Federated Church where there will be a ceremony recognizing the anniversary. A historical display chronicling the history of the town will be set up in the fellowship hall at the church and will be complete with photos. There will be a special presentation by the fire department too.

The Masonville Public LIbrary will host a display of horse-drawn items in their parking lot. The potluck will be on the back lawn of the former Masonville School. Bring a dish to pass. There will be chicken halves available for purchase. Hot dogs will be provided free to children. Punch and water will be served. Please bring a chair and your own plate/utensils.

Music will be by Sundown, a local favorite band. Kids games like wiffleball, kickball, sack races and other games will be underway all afternoon. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate the history of Masonville. For general information contact Betty Scott at 607-265-3826.
